R' Herschel Welcher
Rabbi Herschel Welcher is currently the Rov of Cong. Ahavas Yisroel in Kew Gardens Hills, New York. He studied for many years at Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim of Queens from which he received Rabbinic ordination.
He received extensive Halachic training from some of the foremost Poskin of our time, including Maran Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, shlita, Rabbi Shmuel Wozner, shlita, and Rabbi Moshe Halberstam, Zt"l, of the Eida Hachareidis, Yerushalayim.
He is a highly regarded Halachic authority who serves both the Yeshiva and lay community of Queens. He is the author of "Celebrating Yom Tov" a comprehensive Halachic guide to contemporary observance. Rabbi Welcher lectures extensively on Halachic issues.
